Status of New Orleans

Although nearly 70% of New Orleans was inundated in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, the most historic areas (the French Quarter, Garden District, Uptown) were relatively unscathed.

Today, these areas are fueling the rebirth of the entire city.

Although the tourist industry is struggling to rebound, every day more and more conventions re-committ to visiting the city, and New Orleans has unveiled a seven million dollar advertising campaign in order to draw tourists back to one of the most historic and beautiful cities in the world.

This spring, the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and the French Quarter Festival along with a myriad of other festivals will go on as planned - even stronger than before.

The Cooks Brigade is offering a once in a lifetime experience for chefs and cooks around the world to, in fact, become a New Orleanian by helping us recover during this time of times.
